About the Board
The Higher Education
Students’ Loans Board (HESLB) is a body corporate established under Act No.9 of
2004 (as amended in 2007, 2014 and 2016) with the objective of assisting needy
and eligible Tanzania students to access loans and grants for higher education
The main mandates of HESLB include the following
-To assist, on a loan
basis, needy students who secure admission in accredited higher learning
institutions, but who have no economic power to pay for the costs of their
education
-To collect due loans
from loan beneficiaries and use it as revolving fund to sustain operations of
the Board
-To create synergies
through establishing strategic partnerships in student financing ecosystem
Applications for loan
are always done online as the loan applicants allowed to apply and check their
status on online loan application and management system (OLAMS). Applicants are
also recommended and reminded to use the same form four index numbers used
during applying for admissions.
Far from completing
online application for loans also applicants are reminded to print out the
application and loan agreement for safe keeping. Higher education loan
applicants should obtain authentication, signing the form and attaching
necessary documents, the higher education loan applicant also must upload
necessary attachments and signed on required pages which are page number 2 and
Page number 5 of the online loan application form into OLAMS.

Submitted, and EMS receipts used for mailing their applications to HESLB for
easy access when urgently needed or when necessary

Use your form four index
number together with the year of completion to create account and register onto
online loan application system, unfortunately after completing providing and
Confirming your form four index number you will receive your Control number, example
(77222XXXXXXX).
Use the Control
number generated on the previous steps to pay a non refundable Application Fee
of TZS 30,000.00 (Make Sure you pay once and full, not by installments) through
the following
MPesa,
Tigo Pesa, HaloPesa, Airtel Money, T-Pesa or EzyPesa through Control Number “generated by the system”as
reference number and unfortunately you will receive a confirmation message
(receipt);
Also in one way or
another you can use your Control Number from OLAMS to pay application fee at
any NMB, TPB or CRDB Bank Branch
or respective Agents. But make sure
you do all of this clearly
